Donation Coordinator

Join a team of motivated, highly skilled Donation Coordinators dedicated to helping people through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. As a Coordinator you will work with donor families, hospital staff, and transplant centers by responding to referrals and coordinating the organ donation process. This full time position also offers the opportunity for participation in research, presentations, and education.
Requirements:
- RN, PA or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years of critical care, or emergency room experience
- Ability to multitask, think critically, operate independently, and demonstrate solid interpersonal skills
- Be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and participate in 24 hour on-call schedule

Barbershop Conversations Project Coordinator
Part-time; 20 hours/week; Temporary position for 1 year
This position is responsible for organizing and coordinating implementation and evaluation activities of an outreach program designed to improve health and increase organ and tissue donation in the African-American community. This program is a partnership between LifeSource, University of Minnesota, and Q Health Services and will take place in barbershops in the Twin Cities area.
In this challenging position, you will guide, support and serve as a liaison between community educators, participating barbershops, and community participants. Also, you will coordinate and participate in the evaluation of Barbershop Conversations applied research conducted by the principal scientist at the University of Minnesota.
You will recruit barbershops, collect study data, compile data, monitor and document the barbershop intervention, coordinate with the data center at the University of Minnesota, and assist with development of communication materials to include in training manuals and collateral.

Communication Specialist
(2 Full-time positions)

LifeSource, the Upper Midwest Organ and Tissue Procurement Organization, is expanding! Join a new team of Communication Specialists who will work directly with hospitals and medical examiners to screen patients over the phone for the potential for organ, tissue and eye donation. This is an opportunity to use your medical training, great interpersonal and critical thinking skills in a whole new way. You will also talk with families over the phone providing them the opportunity for donation and obtaining authorization.
Skills/Requirements:
We are searching for experienced professionals with a strong work track record, team-oriented, flexible and want to make a difference. To be a successful member of our Communication Center Team you will have:
- Bachelors degree in health sciences or equivalent of 4 years experience as a LPN, Paramedic, Medical Lab Technician, Medical Records Clerk, Medical Secretary, Medical Assistant, Medical Technician or other related field.
- Ability to multitask, think critically, operate independently, and demonstrate solid interpersonal and telephone skills.
- The ability to work three 12 hour shifts per week, rotating days, nights, weekends and holidays. Be available to work additional shifts during times of high call volume or other staffing needs.
