Donella June Van Asch Gardner

September 26, 1966 – February 13, 2001

Donella was a 34-year-old divorced mother with an eight-year old son, Tanner. As her parents, we made the decision to donate her organs and tissue although we know that is what she would have wanted. Donella was the assistant manager of Riddle’s Jewelry in Aberdeen, SD. When Donella was a little girl, her grandmother made a quilt for her with butterflies and this square is patterned after that quilt. This quilt square was made by Donella’s second cousin, Arlene Vollmer. Donella’s grandmother would be so pleased to know that her quilt pattern was used as a memorial to her only granddaughter.
