Donor Family Workshop: My Loved One Was a Donor…Then What?

LifeSource is excited to announce another workshop opportunity for donor families! Please join us on Wednesday March 26th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. CST for a virtual opportunity: My Loved One Was a Donor…Then What?

Join Jill Halimi and Heather Schmitt, LifeSource Donor Family Advocates, as they host an educational session to help answer questions you may have about your loved one’s donation and what occurred after they gave their gifts.

With more than 40 years of donation experience combined, supporting thousands of donor families along their grief journey, Heather and Jill will guide this conversation, providing a deeper level of understanding that may have been previously overshadowed by your grief.

Whether it’s been weeks, months or years since your loved one’s death, join us for this interactive discussion as we explore:

  • Who is LifeSource?
  • What is the difference between organ, tissue and eye donation?
  • Did anyone receive my loved one’s gifts?
  • Will I ever hear from my loved one’s recipients?
  • Can I write to my loved one’s recipients?
  • What other opportunities does donation and/or LifeSource provide?

While we hope this might be an interactive educational session, please know you are welcome to attend as a silent participant. Our goal is to help families understand what donation means for their loved one and how it might provide healing for your family.

If interested in joining, please RSVP by Sunday March 23rd. Please note, a link and calendar invitation will be sent prior to the event for those who register. This Workshop will be recorded and shared with those who register at a later time.

If you have questions, please send an email to Donor Family Aftercare Program Administrator, Janet Allen at jallen@life-source.org.
