LifeSource Announces New Chief Financial Officer, Fernando Valiente
Former Medical Device Executive to Lead Financial Operations of Life-Saving Organization
MINNEAPOLIS – LifeSource, the organ procurement organization (OPO) for the Upper Midwest, announced today that Luis Fernando Valiente (Fernando) has been selected as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Valiente brings more than 25 years of finance experience, including 20 years at Medtronic. He most recently served as the Transformation Chief Financial Officer at Pentair. Valiente has his MBA in Finance and a B.S. in Accounting.
“Fernando brings expertise in leading teams, implementing transformational strategies and has a strong business acumen,” said LifeSource Chief Executive Officer, Kelly White, RN MS. “Personally, he has a calm demeanor and an impactful leadership presence. After an extensive search, I knew that Fernando was a perfect fit for our organization.”

The CFO is responsible for oversight of financial operations, information services, and data systems and departments, including directors, managers and staff along with associated processes, tools and systems. Valiente succeeds Peter Farstad, who oversaw LifeSource financial operations for more than 20 years.
Valiente’s first day as CFO will be October 30, 2023.
