Eric Paul Hampton

July 15, 1966 – February 8, 1995

Eric was a gifted artist, author, musician and songwriter, as well as a basketball player who died much too young after being assaulted on his way home from playing basketball. The caricature in the center of the quilt square is from a self portrait Eric drew. The bass guitar, sketch pad, and basketball represent his interests and skills. I used those things and the poetry in the design on Eric’s cemetery stone.
