James (Jim) H. Keultjes

Jim Keultjes was not anyone famous, but to his family a true hero. He served our country in the Army going to combat in Turkey, the Dominican Republic, and finished his tour of duty spending 18 months in Viet Nam before coming home. He had the biggest heart. He always gave of himself unselfishly. He always put a smile on your face. He made any dark day surely bright. He never judged anyone. He was an easy-going man who whistled his way through life. All who knew him loved him.

In 1995 an illness that attacked his liver almost took his life. Jin was put on a liver transplant list, but being the fighter he was, fought the illness and was taken off the transplant list. At which time he made himself a donor and with God’s will was given 9 more years. Sadly on December 18, 2004, tragedy struck and we lost our hero. Jim Keultjes was shot in the head while at work and on December 19, 2004 died due to his injuries. His heart was donated and continues to beat on. Our hero gives life. He is forever missed by his wife Christine, daughter Shannan, son Chad, grandsons Luke and John, his german shepard Kayraw, along with many family and friends.
