Paying it Forward: The Adam McCloud Foundation
This year’s concert was the 7th annual tribute to Adam and fundraiser in support of LifeSource and the mission of organ, eye and tissue donation.
In 2012, the McCloud family tragically lost their son Adam after he sustained serious injuries from an assault in downtown Stillwater. Through Adam’s gifts of life, five people received transplants. Since his passing, the Adam McCloud Foundation was established. The McCloud family and friends come together every year to host an uplifting concert and fundraiser in support of LifeSource and the mission of organ, eye and tissue donation.
Committed to sharing Adam’s spirit, laughter, and joy, his family recently hosted the 7th Annual Dweebs concert at the Lift Bridge Brewery in Stillwater. The Dweebs’ zany antics filled the brewery with an audience young and old alike. During the show, the parents of Nick – the young man who received Adam’s heart – shared a powerful story on the miracle given to their son.
As family members commented that evening: “It was such an amazing group of those who loved Adam, those who love our family, families linked together by organ donation and people who love to have fun. . . Thank you!”
Through their generosity over the years, Adam’s family has donated nearly $18,000 to LifeSource to raise awareness on the impact of organ, eye and tissue donation and to encourage donor registration. As LifeSource Ambassadors, Adam’s sister, Tara and her husband, Larry, continue to share Adam’s story and grow their relationships with the recipients of their brother’s life-saving gifts.
We are grateful to the whole McCloud family for honoring Adam’s legacy and sharing their passion, dedication and advocacy for donation. Thank you!
