My connection to donation began in 2002 when my 3-month-old daughter died, and she became an organ donor. Her heart was donated to a boy her same age. He is now almost 20 years old. Shortly after her death, I started working for the organ procurement organization that helped me during this most difficult time. I wanted to help other families like mine by becoming a grief companion and providing support in their time of mourning.
I’m a Donation Liaison that provides the option of organ, eye and tissue donation to families at hospitals when they have a loss of a loved one. I provide support and try to be a companion to those in grief.
Prior to LifeSource, I was an vocation nurse graduate. After my daughter became an organ donor, I transitioned into caring for grieving families.
I work for LifeSource due to my connection to donation. I hope to help families continue the story of their loved one. Donation creates a ripple effect of hope, kindness, and love.
