Ensure anyone who wants to donate has the opportunity to do so.
The wider community depends on LifeSource to safeguard their decisions about donation; and for LifeSource and hospitals to safeguard the gifts themselves. My role is to ensure that LifeSource and our hospital partners function smoothly as a team. I monitor our joint processes and pursue solutions to any difficulties.
I spent several years as a Social Worker in the addictions field, then moved on to pursue a career in law and education related fields (law school Assistant Dean and Personal Trust Officer). After losing two siblings and finding a path through my grief, I felt I could offer help in an area connected with loss and trauma. That search led me to LifeSource, and my work as a Family Support Coordinator since 2005 before transitioning to Donation Liaison.
The donation field fundamentally shifts us to serving other human beings and that never fails to bring me to work. Being part of hope, right in the middle of tragedy, is intensely inspiring. Donor families inspire me. Hospital teams and my colleagues working to preserve what hope they can for a grieving family . . . that inspires me. I have been blessed to work alongside some of the best human beings I can imagine.
