What is it like to be a Donation Liaison at LifeSource?
As a Donation Liaison, you will advance our life-saving work as the representative for our donor families, transplant recipient families and hospital staff.
Picture yourself walking into a hospital and engaging in meaningful conversations with the healthcare team and potential donor families – building trust, answering questions, and offering compassion and support during this difficult time.
As a Donation Liaison for LifeSource, you play a vital role in advocacy for organ, eye and tissue donation
At the Forefront of the Donation Process
Donation Liaisons are at the forefront of the organ donation process, jumping right into work with the nurses and doctors to assist the family in making informed decisions. As the go-to expert on organ donation for both the hospital team and donor and transplant recipient families, you deliver crucial education and training to enhance the donation process, shape program policies, and align with health systems.
“I always think of the recipients and the ultimate goal of saving a life through organ donation” says Mary Prince, Donation Liaison for LifeSource. “I was an ICU nurse prior to being a Donor Liaison, and it became very routine for me. This is really the only job I’ve had that gives me that sense of personal satisfaction.”
As you grow into your role, you will track performance targets, develop action plans, and use data to drive an increase in lifesaving organ donation registrations. Acting as the main representative for organ donation, you’ll manage individual donation decisions and work on communication and support plans with families.
Trust, Compassion, and Communication is Key
“My favorite part about working at LifeSource is the purpose” says Lamont, Donation Liaison at LifeSource. “Waking up every day being able to make someone’s life better. That’s what we’re here for.”
The nature of working with donor and recipient families takes great care and compassion, along with the ability to problem solve and remove barriers.
As a Donation Liaison, you are self-directed, goal-driven, analytical, empathetic, service-minded, cooperative, and resilient.
Transferable Skills
At LifeSource, you can utilize your experience from a wide range of backgrounds. Transferable skills into this role may include relationship-driven skills from backgrounds such as healthcare account executive, account manager/territory manager, hospice, medical sales, chiropractic, sports medicine/physical therapy, nursing, pharmacists, or other related areas.
If being a Donation Liaison sounds like a role that would be a fit, we encourage you to apply for this role!
