Engaging partners to become donation advocates.
I am honored to serve LifeSource as a Donation Liaison to support our mission of saving and healing lives through donation. Part of my role is to collaborate with the hospital and LifeSource staff to nurture and strengthen our relationship. I provide support to our partner hospitals by being a strong advocate for donation, providing education to unit staff, reviewing and presenting data to donation committees, and identifying areas for improving the donation process.
Prior to joining the LifeSource team, I was a Chaplain at the St. Cloud Hospital where I also served as the Donation Committee chair. Through my end-of-life work in chaplaincy, as well as through my work as donation chair, I was fortunate to witness the generosity and love of donor families amid tremendous tragedy and grief. It is my goal that the support we provide donor families will aid in creating legacy, meaning, and hope as they continue to share the stories of their loved ones and the ways they live on through others.
Every day, I am inspired by the work of donation. So many people come together to facilitate this work from the donors and their families, each hospital staff person in many different departments who care for them, the LifeSource and transplant staff, and finally the recipients and their families who take exceptional care of the gifts given to them. It is a beautiful witness of our common humanity and the ways we are connected as people.
