Paying it Forward: Matt Heisler Fundraiser
A young man’s legacy inspired an annual golf tournament to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and to share the impact that can be made through the gift of life.
Friday, June 28th was a fine day for golf at Willinger’s Golf Club (Northfield), for spending time with family and friends and for sharing memories of Matt Heisler. Matt is the inspiration for this golf tournament to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and to share the impact that can be made through the gift of life. This marks the sixth year that Matt’s parents, Jared and Cheryl Heisler, and his sister, Casey, have hosted this tournament in his honor.
Motivated by Matt’s passion for life and his giving spirit, the mission of this fund is to promote organ and tissue donation worldwide through LifeSource – Donate Life MN and ND and The Gift of Life House in Rochester, MN. Matt’s legacy lives on in the form of two annual scholarships given to a male and female student athlete at Lakeville North High School. These gifts are made possible through this golf tournament.
